Why Radically Transparent Is “Invaluable” to Local Business Owners
May 30, 2008 – 1:54 pmSome people read Radically Transparent and love the book. Then there’s Steve Price, owner of two restaurants (Arnies Restaurants and Coho Café) who’s built his entire marketing plan around it!
Here’s Steve’s email to us…
I think I’ve read about everything there is out there on social media, web2.0, online marketing and reputation management and your book is by far the most practical and useful in developing and implementing an effective online marketing and reputation management strategy. I love your book and have put together a strategic marketing plan using the steps found in the book.
Having spent the last 35 years in this business I’ve never run across a subject (outside of product and service) that was so critical to a restaurants survival than effective online reputation management. I think those who choose not to pay attention to the negative press found online will someday find themselves standing in front of a speeding freight train with no way off the tracks but those who are able to maintain a positive presence on line will ride those same tracks sitting on a very different and much more comfortable money train.
This stuff is so cool and so invaluable I wish I could devote 100% of my time honing my skills and then teach the thousands of hard working restaurant operators that lack the time or the expertise on how to implement an effective online management strategy!
My hats off to you! What a great book.
Thanks Steve, we’re glad to have you on the path to being Radically Transparent!

Wow, Steve makes a lot of good points. Though I just aquired a copy of this book it seems chapters 3-5 will be the most beneficial to me. I am self employed and work mostly training horses and building professional websites. I deal with a LOT of people and you wouldnt believe what PR nightmares I have already been faced with. I have already been unlucky enough for someone to take pictures from my emails (sent to family members only) and post them on unsavory websites… Again can we say nightmare. I actually found this book while trying to clean up the mess and prevent and further mishaps. I have already seen that not having had a book such as this from the beginning has cost me thousands of dollars from clients who, after online incidents and googling me, have turned their backs on me… Want to know more about how to prevent similar mishaps? I strongly suggest buying the book. The lessons on repairing your online reputation are invaluable… as are those on monitoring it. Just my two cents worth. Thanks again all!

Hi Kay,
Thank you for the glowing endorsement of the book. I’m glad you’re finding it valuable. I only wish we could have published it before you ran into trouble.
All the best!
